Boston
Today was pretty wet but it never really came down so we were able to see everything we wanted to see. We basically took what they call the Freedom Trail which goes sround historic Boston. We had a good time but now it's time to go home...and sleep in a real bed!

Plymouth and Lexington-Concord
Today we saw Plymouth. Did some shopping and saw some sights. We saw the famous rock but got no pic. We also saw the Mayflower II. We also tasted some pretty darn good wine! Too bad we only did carry-ons...we're gonna have to order some online...yah it's that good!! We're in Boston now and we're gonna see the sights. Nite all.

Cape Cod
Today we had some fun driving around Cape Cod. We saw some great colors on the trees. We missed the sunset but still got to the tip of it with some color left in the sky. I'll post more tomorrow since we'll be in Plymouth.

DJ the human antenna
This is what happens when you get a bunch of bored guys drinking beer together while waiting for a baby shower to end.
Sorry the clarity isn't so great but you guys know what happened.

Moving Jen & Joel in
Had some good laughs today moving Joel and Jen into the seminary suites. It didn't take too long but the stairs were no fun. Although the fun happened when we tried on some of Joel's stuff. Check it out below!

Moving the cat
So on Wednesday we made our last move to Columbus which involved moving the cat. Bekkah took the cat in her car and she got a little curious about where she could go. She decided to go to the backseat and then come back because it was crowded and she ended up like this... ╬

Cat Adventures Pt. 2,3, maybe even 4
Bekkah (the wife) and I have been watching our sliding door for the last week to see if the cats have shown up again and they have on a couple of occasions. It took them a while before they came back to visit (probably traumatized) but we have seen the kittens and their mother on a couple of occasions now. It is fun to stand inside or outside and watch them run around and chase leaves and sticks and bugs and each other.
Seeing as how the mother is not a complete goof off we think that we will no longer have to keep one as a pet (both good and bad). We took a long time to decide that night and since we decided yes it is kind of a big let down not to have the kitten. However, it is very fun to watch all of them play with everything.
Bekkah says we have a month to worry about whether or not these kittens are going to be dumped off somewhere or if the mom is actually a good cat. Guess we will wait and see. In the meantime that means packing for the big move back to Columbus.╬

Cat Adventures
Last night Bekkah and I had company over for dinner and at the end of the evening we saw a mother cat and her 4 baby kittens. We all had fun watching them run around and play and watch the mother ignore them the whole time.
Well after a short time our guests left and Bekkah and I continued to watch the kittens. The mother then ran across the street with 3 of her kittens. Bekkah and I saw the fourth one in a drainage pipe and that it had been left behind. We then contemplated getting a new cat or at least rescuing it.
Bekkah and I grabbed some tuna and some milk and tried to coax the cat out of the pipe. Once or twice we got the kitten close but she would move back into the tunnel. We sat out there by the pipe for an hour or so. Toward the end of our time, Bekkah started meowing and suddenly we saw the mother cat back several yards off. Bekkah made a trail from the mother cat to the pipe so that she could find her kitten. We then walked back to our house and Bekkah comforted our cat Charlie and I watched to see if mother found baby. She did and they ran across the street together and all was well.
We were both happy and sad that they were reunited. All is well.╬

Back from Vacation
Bekkah (the wife) and I went on vacation from July 1 until the 11th. It was nice to get out and go places and have a real vacation for the first time during our entire internship.
We drove from Massillon to Columbus at 3:45 AM and took a flight to Philly and got into our hotel at about 9:30 AM. Spent the next couple of days seeing all the historic stuff in Philly. We saw the National Constitution Center, Liberty Bell, Elfreth's Alley, Franklin's house and grave, Independence Hall, Lights of Liberty Show and a whole lot more...
We then rented a car and drove from Philly to D.C. where we picked up Bekkah's parents. We got to see the 4th of July Fireworks in the National Mall which was very cool after the tornado warning had passed. During our time there we saw: Washington Monument, Smithsonians, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Einstein Memorial, WWII, Holocaust, Capitol, Spy Museum, and so much more I can't think right now of them.
We had a great time spending 10 days seeing all the history of the formation of our country. It really made me think about it all and how much it cost to have our country formed. I have a better and deeper appreciation for our country now. It was a very amazing and moving vacation. I highly recommend it if you ever think about going.╬

Bug Problem
Bees
On Friday I was walking back to the office from being on a visit, and as I was on the sidewalk a bee ran into my head. I wiped at my hair and kept walking. Then I heard another *buzz* coming at me and a bee hit me in the neck and my shirt. I touched my shirt and all I felt was my collar. I then got that creepy feeling that it was still in my shirt. So I reached down the back of my shirt and there was a bee! I un-tucked my shirt and started flapping it to flush the bee out and jumping around. The bee flew out and I walked into the office.
One of the office secretaries and the custodian saw the whole thing, but didn't know there was a bee involved. Needless to say we had a good laugh few quite a while.
Spider
Today as I was getting into my car to go to church when I buckled my seatbelt, turned on the car, released the emergency break, and then reached for the gear shift. As I did I saw a spider with huge legs on my shoulder. I jumped out and the car stalled and I knocked the spider off into the cup holder and then took the cup holder out of the car and blew the spider into the bushes. The whole thing freaked me out and reminded me of Friday.
Ants
As I was writing this I was reminded of the ants that have been invading my house. They are large and scary. When you hold them up to look at them you can see their mandibles. Not something I want to be able to see with my naked eye on an ant. They have been gone for almost a week now. I think I won the war.╬

Home Communion
Yesterday I went to bring home communion to several people at a community that has nursing home, assisted living, and apartments for senior citizens. My last stop was at an assisted living house. The gentleman I gave communion to was someone I had never met before. As we were chatting another man came in and asked him if he was ready to come. He responded he would be there in a few minutes.
As we walked out of his room I asked him where he was going with his friends. He told me that he was going to happy hour, and that his was the only place in the US where you could go in an old man and come out a drunk. He invited me to come have a drink with him and he would pay for it. I told him that I was still working and that I probably shouldn't have a drink. He then said, 'you are not a preacher are you?' I told him that I pretty much was. He said oh well, and a nurse standing nearby told him that although he drank only alcohol there, that there was in fact soda and other beverages.
Well, I passed the opportunity and I headed back to the church. Let's just say that it was a rather fun and the most entertaining experience I have ever had at an assisted living home.╬

All Alone
So my wife left me once again for the west coast, which leaves me all alone in my house. Well, I do have the cat.
So that means more video game time for me. It also means that it seems cool because of the extra game time for the first few days, but then it just gets plain boring because there is no one home to talk to or to hang out with other than the cat.
And I am sorry Charlie (our cat) but you are not as good as the wife. Plus I didn't realize how needy the cat was until I was the only one around. She is constantly hanging out with you and trying to get you to pet her. And she likes to rub against things so when I play video games she likes to rub against the wires of the controller. That is usually about the time I get beat down or shot in the head by a sniper in Halo 2.
Well the wife comes back on Monday and then leaves the next morning I believe for Columbus for a week long class. That basically boils down to three weeks without her.╬
